Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit Grand Isle hard.  We are making progress cleaning and repairing.  We now have limited places to stay if you need to take care of business or coming to help in the restoring of Grand Isle.  With your help and the efforts of so many people from across the nation, Grand Isle will return even stronger!  Thank You for making our restoration possible.

 The Butterfly Dome has been replaced and is now OPEN.  
The Dome was built on donations and is maintained by volunteers.

    We invite you to share the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.  Enjoy the beach by building sandcastles, swimming, or sunbathing.  All sorts of lodging is available or go to the State Park and from the tower you can see the ruins of Fort Livingston or watch a shrimp boat haul in their catch of the day.
    To cool off on a hot afternoon enjoy walking down a shaded lane looking at old homes, birdwatching or eat an ice-cream or snowball from a local shop.  Fill your evenings competing at a friendly game of miniature golf.  Enjoy delicious dining at one of the many restaurants serving the freshest seafood around or have a cookout with your friends at your camp.
